Some days…

Some days…

… it’s about the food. Some days, it’s all about the technique and process. Some days… well, it’s just about me… and what makes me feel good.

Today is one of those days.

Cheese makes me happy… lots of cheese. Thank the lord
that lactose intolerant gene thingy passed me by
All dressed up
Spreading a little mayo on the outside of the bread before
grilling keeps the grilled cheese from burning and
makes for some sexy browned goodness
about 3 min per side over medium heat should do it
Tomato Soup makes me happy, too…
That’s one can of tomato soup, one can of milk
and a half a can of tomato juice.
The “new and improved” Campbell’s Soup is markedly too sweet.
Like lambs to the slaughter
A suitably large bowl is a necessity
Guaranteed to put the stops to any bad day
Or, if that doesn’t do it…
chunk the sammich up and douse it with soup.

  2. Even though the gene hit me, I will tolerate the intolerance of the dreaded lactose for a yummy grilled cheese sammich and matie soup. It makes me happy. And you forgot the pat of butter and sprinkling of black pepper on top. 🙂

  3. @Lisa Shaw Tomatoes only in sauce? no tomato sammiches? no fried tomatoes? no tomatoes n okra? …are you sure you're Southern? :)Cheese is my downfall… especially melted. In my book, everything is better with cheese.

  4. The cheese sammiches look so yummy! Alas, I am a Southern gal who is only fond of tomatoes when they are made into spaghetti sauce, but I do know lots of people who love tomato soup with a good cheese sammich. By the way, I'm glad someone else says "sammich" other than me.
